Kenya in east Africa offer a whole host of fantastic National Parks for you to discover. Big Cat Safari

This safari offers the opportunity to stay in small and exclusive safari camps and eco-lodges. We combine some of the nest wildlife areas in Kenya with private conservancies where you are able to walk with Masai warriors and guides and venture out for the night drives to spot nocturnal animals. The camps are committed to helping preserve Africa's unique wildlife, landscapes and supporting local communities. The Selenkay Conservancy, a few miles north of Amboseli National Park, is owned by a Masai community and is located in a wilderness area off the beaten track with a vast diversity of wildlife. Porini Mara Camp has recently been set up in the exclusive wildlife conservancy of Ol Kinyei, one of the most beautiful wilderness areas in the region. The conservancy holds a wide variety of the animal species for which the Mara is famous including a large resident pride of lions.

Governor’s Flying Safari

Along with the team behind the iconic Governors’ Camps we bring you a new itinerary which includes an option to visit the homeland of President Obama’s father. This short itinerary includes the delightful Loldia House which nestles under acacia and wild fig trees on the green western shore of Lake Naivasha. Built around a courtyard, its main archway frames a stunning view of the dormant volcano Mount Longonot. The house is set is lawns that are grazed at night by hippos from the lake. Acacia Safari

This safari offers visits to a contrasting trio of parks, the Shaba National Reserve, Lake Nakuru and finally the journey culminates with three nights in the world famous Masai Mara. Located close to Samburu, Shaba has reserved its place in the history of conservation as the area where Joy Adamson experimented with the release of hand-reared leopards. Much of Shaba’s charm lies in the splendour of its deep gorges and waterfalls on the river in the north, and open grasslands dotted with springs. Animals commonly seen are elephants, lions, cheetahs, Grevy’s Zebras, giraffes, gerenuks, buffalos, dik diks and waterbucks. The river forest attracts a wide variety of birds. Cheetah Safari

This new 7-night safari includes accommodation in a new lodge in Samburu, Ashnil Samburu Camp. Samburu Safari

A superb introduction to the splendours of Kenya, visiting a variety of key national parks and game reserves along a classic safari circuit. Accommodation in memorable locations includes an overnight stay at Treetops, one of the most famous game viewing lodges in the World. It overlooks a water hole and salt lick high in the Aberdare National Park. The lodge rises straight out of the ground on stilts and open balconies are the ideal vantage points for viewing and photographing game. This itinerary visits Lake Lakuru where a variety of birds, including numerous bright pink flamingoes, often entertain. Your Safari Vehicle

Safari vehicles are driven by expert driver/guides, who have extensive knowledge of the regions and wildlife. The above Safari itineraries unless stated will be travelling in the Somak microbuses. The Somak microbuses in Kenya have game viewing hatches (accessible from the rear seats) and are equipped with a cool box for you to store your drinks. All Kenya safaris, unless otherwise indicated, use a maximum of seven seats, thus guaranteeing you a window seat. For your privacy, you may request the use of an exclusive vehicle for yourself and your companions. Four-wheel drive vehicles are available for a supplement and seat up to five or seven passengers (all with window seats) and have game viewing roof hatches. Tanzania safaris operate using 4-wheel drive vehicles accommodating five or seven passengers.

Elsa’s Kopje, Meru National Park, Kenya

This is the site of George Adamson’s first camp, and is named after Elsa, the famous orphaned lioness. The lodge offers nine individually designed thatch and stone cottages, the family cottage boasts its own private swimming pool.

Game drives are available day and night in open 4 wheel drive vehicles.

Governors’ Il Moran, Masai Mara

This exclusive camp is situated on the banks of the Mara River in the heart of the best game-viewing area of the Masai Mara. The camp recreates the atmosphere of the original hunting safaris. Each of the ten luxury suite tents offers hand carved bed, Victorian style bath, double size shower and large veranda for private dining. Cordon-bleu candlelit dinners are also served deep in the bush.

Bateleur Camp, Masai Mara

Two exquisite nine suite camps designed to transport guests to the heyday of romantic colonial safaris. The fan-cooled tenets reflect well-travelled luxury, complete with hardwood floors, needlepoint rugs and crisp linen beds. Activities include game drives, guided walks and Masai community visits. The camp falls in the path of the annual migration when, between July and September, over one million wildebeest and zebra may be witnessed.

Larsens Camp, Samburu

A small luxurious tented camp, set on lush lawns on the banks of Ewaso Nyiro River. The upmarket camp is of high style with casual colonial elegance and a surprising degree of comfort. Embraced by tranquillity and nature, the river is the perfect stage for an endless pageant of wildlife – elephants rolling and trumpeting in the shallows, timid impala nervously drinking, and baboons and vervet monkeys swinging through the canopy of trees. Situated on the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro, a river in Samburu National Reserve, and on the border of the old Northern Frontier Province. 20 airy tents decorated in chic style, with en suite bathrooms with shower.

Loisaba Lodge/Loisaba Star Beds, Laikipia

A working cattle farm, in untamed bush, boasting views that extend for hundreds of miles to Mount Kenya, the Lolldaiga Hills and the Mathews Range. The Loisaba lodge is situated at the edge of an escarpment overlooking the Laikipia Plateau. A twenty minute drive from Loisaba Lodge are the ‘Star Beds’, which provide a unique opportunity to sleep out on thatched platforms under the stars and are hosted by local Masai. Situated on the border of Laikipia and Kenya’s rugged Northern Frontier District and only a few miles from the equator. 7 rooms with en suite bathrooms, set on the escarpment with a private deck. Kiboko Star Beds are located among a kopje of rocks in one of the eastern valleys overlooking the ‘Kiboko’ waterhole. Kioja star beds are situated over the river and are reached by footbridge from the opposite bank. Note: The Loisaba Lodge is closed during May. The Star Beds are closed during May and November.

Tortilis Camp is named after the Tortilis acacia tree and is a charming rustic tented camp built into the side of a hill, facing the foothills of Africa’s highest mountain, Kilamanjaro. The friendly staff, drawn from the local Masai community, are dedicated to offering a truly memorable stay. Situated on the edge of Amboseli National Game Reserve, on the southern border of Kenya.

Ol Kanjau Tented Safari Camp, Amboseli

This traditional style safari camp enjoys views of Mt Kilimanjaro and is surrounded by true bush land wilderness. The bush is predominantly flat-topped tortilis acacia trees and is home to a wide variety of game including elephants. Situated just outside Amboseli National Park at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro. 6 luxuriously spacious tents with a safari style shower. Note: The camp is closed during April-May and November.

Loldia House, Lake Naivasha

Nestling under the acacia and wild fig trees on the green western shores of Lake Naivasha, the present Loldia House was constructed by Italian prisoners of war, from stone quarried on the farm. Built around a courtyard, its main archway frames a stunning view of the dormant volcano Mount Longonot. An old farmhouse on a ranch of the northwestern part of Lake Naivasha.

A beautiful country house boasting delightful lush gardens full of vibrant colour, rolling lawns and a view to complement the beautiful setting. Situated at Lake Naivasha in the Great Rift Valley Oserian game corridor, Kiangazi House overlooks Lake Oloidien and part of Lake Naivasha. 3 rooms in the main house with en suite bathroom, 2 garden rooms with en suite bathroom and verandah.

Chui Lodge, Naivasha
